Brenko Lee joins NRL's Gold Coast Titans
Dec 20, 2017 - 11:16 PM The Gold Coast's outside backs stocks have been boosted with the acquisition of Canterbury centre Brenko Lee.The 22-year-old will join the Titans next year after being released by the Bulldogs on Thursday.
A Logan Brothers junior, Lee has played 33 NRL games and will provide much-needed depth to the Titans backline.
Dale Copley and Konrad Hurrell are the club's incumbent centres, while winger Anthony Don is battling to be fit for round one after suffering an infection following shoulder surgery.
The former Canberra Raider led the Bulldogs in try assists last season, tallying 12 to go with three tries in 18 games.
The Bulldogs gave Lee the club's blessings, crediting personal family reasons for the decision to move.
"He is returning home to south-east Queensland so we hope him being comfortable at home will help him play his best football," Titans coach Garth Brennan said of Tongan and Queensland under-20s representative Lee.
"We have had a number of changes to the squad and he'll definitely help us in the outside backs."
